Mood Detectives

Is your child having a hard time understanding their emotions, managing big feelings, or knowing what to do when they feel overwhelmed?

Mood Detectives is a fun, interactive 6-week children’s group designed to help children feel more confident in understanding and managing their emotions—one clue at a time!

Through play, creative activities, stories, movement, and age-appropriate therapeutic strategies, children will learn how to recognize their emotions, understand their body’s signals, identify triggers, and build a toolbox of healthy coping skills.

What Will We Explore?

Over six weeks, our Mood Detectives will investigate:

  • Identifying Feelings — learning to name and understand different emotions

  • Body Clues — noticing how emotions show up in the body

  • Emotional Triggers — understanding what can make feelings bigger

  • Coping Tools — discovering strategies to manage stress, frustration, worry, and other big feelings

  • Thought Detectives — learning how thoughts can influence feelings and reactions

  • Healthy Expression — developing skills to communicate feelings and needs
